Robin Poteet to lead annual WVWS workshop

Robin Poteet of Salem, Va., will be the instructor for this year’s annual WVWS workshop, to be held Aug. 6-9, 2020, at North Bend State Park.

Robin will lead the group through the creation of beautiful, original travel journals. She will also teach how she uses the illustrations and content in the travel journals to develop larger studio watercolors.

Some examples of the gorgeous travel journals Robin has created.

Robin was formerly a graphic designer who transitioned to full-time painting in 2010. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards and has been featured in books and magazines.

This five-day workshop will spend three days concentrating on making journals, decorating covers, and filling the journal pages with notes, drawings and watercolor sketches. Then, for the last two days, Robin will lead participants through the process where she develops larger watercolor paintings.

The workshop fee is $280 for WVWS members and $310 for nonmembers. Accommodations are available at North Bend State Park (the workshop fee does not cover accommodations), and participants can arrange lodging at the park by calling Kristy Steed at 304-643-2931, ext. 304, for reservations.
