I am a native West Virginian and have loved art and been involved in creative expression since childhood. I began painting in 1995 and studied traditional oil painting for three years under Hattiesburg, Mississippi artist, Virginia “Dinny” St. John. I am largely self-taught in water media and continue to study independently and in workshops to improve my skills and expand my creativity.
A workshop with Pat Dews in 2011 opened my eyes to abstraction and changed my painting style forever. I like to paint what I feel, not what I see. My recent works are mainly nonrepresentational abstracts, but I also continue to paint more traditional representational oils and watercolors.
I am a signature member of the West Virginia Watercolor Society. I regularly exhibit my work in juried exhibitions and have won numerous awards. My paintings are held in private collections in the U.S.
