Aqueous 2020 update (again): New format

UPDATE!! The exhibition will be an online-only show for 2020. The gallery of images will be posted on July 15 and those interested in purchasing works can submit their interest via an online form until Aug. 31.


(Posted April 4, 2020) - AQUEOUS CALENDAR UPDATE From Exhibition Chairwoman Linda Elmer:

  • Images sent to Linda Elmer by June 8
  • Jury results: Entrants notified by July 1
  • Work Shipped to Linda Elmer  by July 27
  • Work due to the Gallery  July 25 - August 1
  • Judging Aug. 3 or 4
  • Reception: August 14
  • Exhibit Closes: August 31

Those who have already submitted their entries need to assess the new calendar to see if they need to withdraw or change their entries. If you withdraw from entering at this time, your money will be refunded.  I have not deposited most of the checks, so I will need to know if you want your check back. Otherwise, I will assume that you are still planning to enter the show and will proceed in depositing your check.

The revised exhibition prospectus is now available for Aqueous 2020, the West Virginia Watercolor Society's National Juried Exhibition, now slated to take place Aug. 6-31 at Arts Monongahela, 40 High St., Morgantown, W.Va.

Juror for this year's exhibition will be Brienne Brown, NWS, who also led the WVWS annual workshop in 2018. Brienne is a noted plein air painter and award-winning watercolorist. You can see many examples of her work on her website.

The new deadline to enter Aqueous 2020 is June 8, 2020. Please note that June 8 is the date by which entries must be received, so be sure to mail entry forms and fees early. For more details, please download the new prospectus from the link below.
