I was born in Schenectady, New York and have painted since I was 12. I have always painted with oils and was introduced to acrylics in high school. I graduated from SUNY at Farmingdale with an Advertising Art and Design degree in 1970.
After working in the commercial field for a few years I continued my education in Vermont and earned a BA from Castleton State College. Upon moving to West Virginia from Cincinnati I became involved with watercolors.
I continually take workshops and become introduced to many different styles of applying paint which is reflected in my work and also in the studio class that I teach.
I have been juried into the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society as well earning Signature status in WVWS.
I was commissioned to do a wall mural at a Morgantown, W.Va., wine bistro's deck walls, Slight Indulgence. I've also had three solo shows there.
It has been exciting and challenging working with watercolors, acrylics and now and then the water mixable oils. With these mediums I try to capture the glow of light and color and put as much emotion into my work as possible and bring more joy into the world. I want people to see what I see and feel.
