Philadelphia Water Color Society entries open

The Philadelphia Water Color Society is accepting entries for its 121st International Exhibition of Works on Paper, held Oct. 21 – Nov. 23 at Community Arts Center in Wallingford, Pa. More than $10,000 in prizes awarded, with a first-place award valued at $2,000. Entry deadline is Aug. 3, 2021. Pittsburgh Watercolor Society’s Aqueous Open accepting entries

Aqueous Open, the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society’s annual open international exhibition, is accepting entries for this year’s virtual show, taking place Oct. 1 to Nov. 30, 2021. More than $5,000 in awards and merchandise awards will be available. Juror is Carla O’Connor, AWS/NWS. Entry deadline is Aug. 8, 2021. Ohio Valley Plein Air Paint-Out

Artworks Around Town in Wheeling is hosting Ohio Valley Plein Air Paint-Out, Sept. 1-5, 2021. Each day is a planned painting destination at a different location throughout the Ohio Valley (downtown Wheeling, Moundsville, Palace of Gold, Bethany, and Oglebay Park). Watercolor Expressions at BAC

The Berkeley Arts Council (BAC) announces Watercolor Expressions, a national juried exhibit, to be displayed at the Berkeley Art Works, 116 N. Queen St. in Martinsburg, WV, from Oct. 13 through Nov. 13, 2021. Juror will be Lynn Ferris, AWS, NWS. Visit the BAC website for more information and click the “Enter Here” link in the show announcement to get to our online entry system. Deadline for entries is 12 midnight on Monday August 30, 2021.

2021 West Virginia Juried Exhibition

West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History seeks entries for the 22nd biennial West Virginia Juried Exhibition. The show will be on display at the Culture Center in Charleston. Since 1979, the exhibition has celebrated the exceptional talents and creativity of Mountain State artists. Submissions for the exhibit in the form of digital images on CD or USB flash drive will be accepted until Monday, Aug. 2. The Juried Exhibition prospectus will include additional details about entry.

WVWS Grant Applications Available

The West Virginia Watercolor Society is mandated by charter to “Promote and Ensure the High Standards of the Art of Watercolor in the State of West Virginia.”

To this end, WVWS is offering a grant of up to $500 to a member for the purpose of fostering creativity within the state. To download the grant application, click HERE.
