Aqueous 2023

Aqueous 2023

The Chuck Mathena Center in Princeton will host Aqueous 2023, the national juried exhibition hosted by the West Virginia Watercolor Society, from May 15 to June 29, 2023, in the Rotunda Gallery. Juror for the exhibition will be Nancy Stark, AWS, NWS.

Exhibition Calendar

  • Online Entry Open: Feb. 1, 2023

  • Deadline to Enter: March 31, 2023

  • Notification: April 10, 2023

  • Shipped and Hand Delivered Deadline: May 11, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chuck Mathena Center. Shipped work will go to the center. Shipping details are on the exhibition prospectus. Help is available to help hand-deliver paintings from different areas of the state.

  • Exhibition Dates: May 15 – June 29, 2023

  • Opening Reception and Awards: May 19, 2023, from 2-4 p.m.

  • Pickup: June 30, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to the printable forms, an online entry form with option to pay entry fees online will be available on the WVWS website starting Feb. 1, 2023.


Please note, because of online payment processing costs, the online payment option will include an additional $1 per painting entry to cover those extra expenses.

Entry payments made by check/money order will not require that extra fee. Please see the prospectus for more information, and be sure to use the convenient online entry from starting in February.
