
Linda Elmer
Linda’s media is predominantly water-based painting, drawing and collage but she also works on commission in graphic design and photography. Topics include landscape, cityscapes and figures. Her range of styles have included non-objective, abstraction, expressionism to naturalism. Many of her WV scenes are available as note cards. West Virginia is also a theme for her tiny canvases that are used as ornaments. She has exhibited in over 100 juried and non-juried exhibits including the WV Juried Exhibition and as a Tamarack artist. Linda is currently a signature member and officer of the West Virginia Watercolor Society. Originally from the Jane Lew, WV area, Linda Elmer received a B.A. in Art Education from Fairmont State University in 1981 and a Master of Arts in Visual Art with an emphasis in painting from West Virginia University in 1991. Linda taught art for 34 years in Marion County, WV and retired in June of 2015. She has teaching experience at the college and graduate level for Alderson Broaddus College and West Virginia University, respectively.
